Portland Gateway Green BMX

The BMX scene is thriving in Portland, Oregon, thanks to the revamped trails at Gateway Green. After pleading with the key holders of the property BMXers were finally allowed to build and maintain a set of trails they could be proud of.

The result is a beautiful mid-sized set, and the midweek sessions have been going off! Massive thanks to Barrett, Barnhart, James, Chris, and everyone else who threw down all winter long to get the set running in time for long summer nights!

After ten years off, I finally built up a BMX bike. I've wanted to do it for a long time but kept putting it off. I'll do a post on an entire post on that bike some other day, but it's put a smile on my face. Shout out to Whthous and Goods BMX for the dream build!

Gateway Green sessions pop off every Wednesday from 5 pm to dark. While the park is open every day, Wednesdays are great because the crew water and maintain the jumps. If you want more spots like this in the Portland Metro Area, please contact Parks and Recs and let them know! Portland is decades behind other cities in incorporating dirt jumps, pump tracks, and mtb trails within city limits.

Until next time! -> Christopher San Agustin
