On this weeks bonus episode of Ferns and Berms I discover why mountain biking in the Pacific Northwest is the best! This is definitely the best episode of Ferns and Berms yet!
On this weeks episode of Ferns and Berms I drive from Portland Oregon to Fall City Washington to ride with friends at their local trails.
I make it up to Seattle for work a few times a year and I always bring a bicycle. So when I got word I had to be in the office Monday morning I packed up my car and headed up north super early Sunday to catch some fresh Ferns and Berms. Yeah I said it. This thing is only going to get more embarrassing as time goes on!

It wasn't long ago that I was being shuttled off to Washington to ride some of my first trails in the Pacific Northwest. I love that feeling of not knowing what your getting into. Staring out the window you dream about what the trail will be like, will you be able to hang with the group, are you getting in over your head, and did I bring the right gear with me. I love that feeling. I wonder what was going through Craig's head as we drove down the 84 towards Hood River. Craig secured a demo for the day and this would his second time riding some real trails. It's early. He's probably still thinking of a warm bed or a hot cup of coffee.
When I got word I'd be working in Seattle for a couple weeks, so many things rushed through my mind. What bike do I bring? Who is going to water my plants? Where will I be staying? Is it going to rain? And most importantly, will I be able to mountain bike? Well......
The cycling community is strong and the Washington Mountain Biking community is even stronger. My buddy Chip aka @workingoutinjeans made some smooth jazz lines and a plan was set. Matt from the Polka Dot Jersey hooked me up with a demo and everything else fell into place.
I can't thank everyone enough. So stoked.
