Bend The Law

Bend The Law

The problem I have with cyclocross in Oregon is that it comes during a time when our mountains are at it’s best and as mountain bikers we live for these days!

My good friend whom was a very serious racer for a very long time once told me “there will come a time when you will have to decide if you want to mountain bike on the weekends or race around in circles for 40 minutes.”

It took just a few races for me to realize that my weekends would be spent chasing the best trail conditions around the PNW and not at a race. To each his/her own.

This is why I love the Portland Trophy Cup! The Tuesday race at the Portland International Raceway was a good excuse to go hard for 40 minutes and party with your friends.

2018 Portland Short Track Finale

2018 Portland Short Track Finale

The 2018 Portland Short Track is a wrap! I had a blast shooting and racing the past couple of months. Huge shout out to everyone involved, all the volunteers, and all the friends that make this race so fun to attend.

I shot a ton of photos and there are definitely some gems in here! Enjoy.

The Cyclocross Crusade at the Deschutes Brewery is probably one of the biggest cyclocross events in the United States. The venue is massive and Oregon turned up!

This descent was rowdy!

Team vibes. Thanks for the beer Team Oregon!

Ride ups and run ups.

Tuesdays are dead

The Portland Trophy Cup is over. Tuesdays are dead!

Promoters take notes because the Trophy Cup is hands down the best series in Portland.

Last nights race was madness and the fall weather really created a special vibe.

It got dark really fast but nothing was going to hold these ladies back from crushing.

Portland knows how to have a good time.

Left. Tay killed it in her first year as a Cat 1. That whole field should be scared.

Mike enabled the Speedo and fucking crushed the barriers. Savage!

The men + singlespeed race was a blast. The course layout made for some killer spectating.

Mike and Ryan unlocked the barrier and sent it. Did you know Ryan used to be afamous BMX rider? Seriously, check this out!

The party / award ceremony is this Friday at the Athletic. Head over to Portland Trophy Cup for more info.

Portland Short Track Race 4

Race number 4 of the Portland Short Track is a wrap. It was hot hot hot. I mean seriously it was hot as hell out there. The organizers did another great job of designing the course this week. It was technical and loose. I took the hole shot in the U35 Cat 2 field which I held for no more than a quarter of a lap. Its the little things right. Below are some photos from the Elite men + Elite women's race. It's inspiring to watch these men and women race and I am looking forward to the next one.

Andrew Coe rode flawlessly in the last couple of laps leaving the rest of the field to try and chase him down.

The Elite + Cat 1 women were killing it on this loose course laying down smooth lines and showing some true grit.

I think we can all agree that Ten Speed Hero makes some of the best kits in the cycling industry.

I am sure Josh Kelley is not happy settling for third. Looking forward to seeing how this guy shreds in the next couple of races. Heal up man!
