The Ripplebrook campground was rad and coffee over a morning fire was definitely going to be a thing on this trip. There is something magical about waking up and making a small fire. The warmth, the smoke, the smell as breakfast simmers and pops on the small coals.
The road is closed the Ranger said... Yet we were set on our route and how bad could the construction be?
The road was indeed closed. Passable? Sure, why not? After a few wrong turns and some pleasant surprises we made our way to Timothy Lake.
Again, we lucked out. The campgrounds were closed for car campers and the camp hosts gave us the best spot on the lake. The stars were amazing. Once in a lifetime oppurtunity to expierence Mt Hood like this.
