I woke up in the morning super excited to have the week off and enjoy the beautiful weather. Everything was carefully prepped the night before and I knew I wanted to put in some miles. As I approached the GWB bridge I was welcomed by a locked gate. Shit. I've seen posts of people keeping it rubber side down on the East Side of the river so I decided to give it a shot and see what I could find. What I didn't expect was to discover some of my favorite riding in New York. Hands down this ride trumped anything that 9W has to offer. Even the Bronx dished out 22% gradients and once I passed Tarrytown I had pedaled into a dream state where the water ran through thick growth and the roads resonated with stillness.
