Ferns and Berms Episode 2: Best Mountain Bike Trails Near Seattle

Ferns and Berms Episode 2: Best Mountain Bike Trails Near Seattle

On this weeks episode of Ferns and Berms I drive from Portland Oregon to Fall City Washington to ride with friends at their local trails.

I make it up to Seattle for work a few times a year and I always bring a bicycle. So when I got word I had to be in the office Monday morning I packed up my car and headed up north super early Sunday to catch some fresh Ferns and Berms. Yeah I said it. This thing is only going to get more embarrassing as time goes on!

Chris here from Broken and Coastal introducing you to a new project called Ferns and Berms. I’ll be posting a new video each week documenting some aspect of live here in the Pacific Northwest.

Today’s video was shot on the new Go Pro 7 Black at Sandy Ridge which is one of our local riding spots. Learn more about Sandy Ridge here: https://bit.ly/2RLaCSE Towards the end of the video you will hear some gun shots in the distance.

Who shoots guns next to a public trail system? No idea.

Mount A Tube With the Trail Bound Enduro Strap

Trail Bound is an enduro crew based out of Northern California created by my buddy Chris Riesner. Like a lot of us Chris started out riding BMX bikes and when a nasty fall took him out he eventually switched directions and fell in love with Moto.

Since then Trail Bound has not only become a media source for Enduro riders but a platform to create awesome goods ranging from hand printed shirts to these sweet Enduro Straps made by Voile.

Bend The Law

Bend The Law

The problem I have with cyclocross in Oregon is that it comes during a time when our mountains are at it’s best and as mountain bikers we live for these days!

My good friend whom was a very serious racer for a very long time once told me “there will come a time when you will have to decide if you want to mountain bike on the weekends or race around in circles for 40 minutes.”

It took just a few races for me to realize that my weekends would be spent chasing the best trail conditions around the PNW and not at a race. To each his/her own.

This is why I love the Portland Trophy Cup! The Tuesday race at the Portland International Raceway was a good excuse to go hard for 40 minutes and party with your friends.
