2018 Portland Short Track Race 1

The 2018 Short Track Series kicked off yesterday and the cycling community showed up to race bikes and cheer on their friends.

This race always brings out the coolest people. Mike is one rad dad!

"The course - which we will change up every week - is a combination of grassy flats, twisty singletrack (under the trees), and rolling dirt track (on the motocross course). The typical lap distance is about 1.0 mile and racers will do multiple laps for the duration of their race (see schedule below). Everyone finishes on the same lap as the race leader in their race heat, regardless of whether you get lapped.

The course is pretty flat and doesn't feature any major climbing (elevation gain per lap is only 20 to 40 ft), so you don't need a lightweight bike to rock this race. Indeed, folks are racing on all types of mountain bikes, cyclocross bikes - and even BMX bikes - at Short Track!"

Short Track runs pretty much every Monday through July 30th. Check out the schedule below!

Monday Nights - June 4, 11, 18, 25 & July 9, 16, 23 & 30 on the infield of Portland International Raceway.
